Queensland Restrictions Ease: Brisbane Hire Activities Available!

As Queensland begins to reduce COVID-19 restrictions, you may be wondering, what can I do in Brisbane this weekend? Whilst social distancing needs to be maintained, National Parks & non-essential retail is re-opening, which means that you can get outdoors and enjoy the long weekend. As such, we’re stoked to announce that we’ll be reopening more activities! Check out these outdoor activities in Brisbane that you can get into this weekend.

Combat Cabin Fever with Kayak Hire!

It’s the one you’ve been waiting for, kayaking is back this weekend at Riverlife! We’re very excited to be putting kayaks on the water and to have you and your crew kayaking with us. Basking in the sun and paddling down the Brisbane River will have never felt so good. Take in Brisbane landmarks such as South Bank, Howard Smith Wharves and the Story Bridge.

If you’ve never kayaked with us before, this is an awesome opportunity to get out and about and experience something active and new in Brisbane. Riverlife is based in Kangaroo Point, right on the Brisbane River. We provide each participant with a kayak, paddle and a PFD (lifejacket), as well as a full safety briefing.

Just as we were in the lead up to stronger restrictions, we’ll be running this activity with social distancing and increased sanitisation methods. This includes pre & post-activity sanitising of PFDs and paddles.

Kayaks are available to hire from Riverlife for $25 per person, per 2-hour session. Please note only Single-Person Kayaks are available. Bookings are essential, so please book online

Make Harrison Ford Proud and Become a Blade Runner with Rollerblade Hire!

You may have been skating around your house in your socks but this weekend you can skate for real! We’re bringing rollerblades back to 2020.

Brisbane is lucky to have so many great footpaths and bike paths around its iconic river, so why not explore Kangaroo Point on rollerblades this weekend? Or take them to your preferred starting point and let loose in your suburb? This is a great option for those needing some extra practice before taking on the big city.

Riverlife provides you with all the required safety equipment, including a helmet, wrist guards, elbow pads and knee pads. You can never be too careful!

Rollerblades are available to hire from Riverlife for $12.50 per day or $25 per week. Bookings are recommended, so please book online.

Forget Work Meetings & Zoom the Right Way with Urb-E Hire!

Are you missing the wind in your Hair? The feeling that you were born to be in a Fast & Furious movie? Wanting to zoom in a way that doesn’t involve a conference call? Well, now you can dash through Brisbane with the best of them because Urb-es are back!

If you haven’t experienced an Urb-E before, this is the perfect time to do so. Urb-Es are an electric vehicle, similar to a scooter, except that you sit down. They have a top speed of 25km/h and fold up for your convenience if you want to stop off for a coffee or a snack.

From Riverlife, we recommend cruising over the Goodwill Bridge into the City Botanic Gardens. Following the path to Eagle St Pier, head over to Howard Smith Wharves and ride the elevator up to The Story Bridge. Either take off across the Story Bridge back over towards Kangaroo Point or continue your journey into Fortitude Valley.

Urb-es are available to hire from Riverlife for $12.50 per day or $25 per week. Bookings are recommended, so please book online.

Break Out the Lycra. It’s Time to Exercise with Bike Hire!

Whether you’re a seasoned pro looking to get the blood rushing, or just a casual rider needing to detox from isolation, Riverlife’s range of bikes will have you pumping pedals in no time. Our bikes are suitable for both city riding and mountain biking. With the government restrictions easing on National Parks, why not grab a bike for the long weekend and check out your local bike trail? Or just show off your wheels around your suburb, the choice is yours.

Bikes are available to hire from Riverlife for $12.50 per day, or $25 per week. Bookings are essential, so please book online.

Please, Sir, I Want Some More.

WHAT?! MORE?! Aside from our awesome outdoor activities, there are some great things to do in Brisbane this weekend. Picnics are above board and National Parks are open, so why not break out the picnic blanket and enjoy the sunshine. The Kangaroo Point Cliff Parklands and Captain Burke Park are both fantastic outdoor spaces to relax with your family and friends. And who knows? You may even see a bike or kayak from Riverlife and be tempted for an adventure activity this weekend.
