Young rangers will have the opportunity to mix with a new group of kids and participate in a variety of independent and collaborative school holiday programs. The day will include three sessions and include different activities per session. The young rangers will rotate through kayaking, abseiling, rock-climbing, bike riding and laser tag whilst being provided with morning tea and lunch. Abseiling solo does not compare to the enthusiasm or encouragement family and friends bring to this adventure! This is especially a must do for families as the shared emotions of nervousness and excitement will bring everyone together. Riverlife’s highly qualified instructors deliver a safety briefing and provide abseilers all the equipment necessary to make them feel safe and comfortable to go down the cliffs. Every step of the way the instructors will be there to watch and guide abseilers down, making sure everyone is having fun and feeling 100% secure. It is one of the best school holiday activities for kids to develop their confidence and independence whilst leaving at the end of the day with a sense of achievement.
Rock-climbing involves strength, coordination, determination, and cooperation! Before families embark on this school holiday adventure, a spot along the cliff face will be chosen to suit the age levels and skill levels of the climbing group. All safety equipment will be provided as well as instruction, supervision, and support by professional and qualified instructors. The instructors will likewise be hands on every step of the way to help anyone who has prior experience climbing or who are rock-climbing for their first time. Rock-climbing is a new and exciting school holiday experience as it will allow families and children to be active in a glorious outdoor environment. Kangaroo Point Cliffs is additionally one of the best natural rock-climbing areas for families and children.
Kayaking is a great activity for anyone to see the city, learn about the river and water safety, and feel connected to Brisbane. It will get you active in an unique, unconventional way! Riverlife is situated on the river’s edge, between many local city landmarks and straight across from the Botanic Gardens. The new sights and sounds of the Brisbane City will definitely capture your attention and the ferries and boats sharing the river will have you gain a new confidence and awareness. When looking for school holiday activities in Brisbane, this is a brilliant option to learn how to become an assertive and strong paddler, engage in kayak games with fellow friends or family members, and learn how to navigate the river.
Laser tag has become a crowd favourite for school holiday activities, with players immersing themselves in the competitive nature of the game. The game is inclusive to all and involves playing against one another in two separate competitive teams. You will learn how to work together in a team, recognise each other’s strengths and weaknesses, and change strategies and communication tactics. As well as being an all-round fun activity for kids to feel included and get active, laser tag is a fantastic way to build communication, leadership, and teamwork skills. There is no mess involved, the outdoor environment is exceptionally safe, and can be overall described as a perfect fit for school holiday activities!
Travel around Brisbane with style and sophistication on Riverlife’s exciting Urb-E’s. These incredible electric scooters are agile, nimble and fun. An Urb-E Tour is more than just a leisurely cruise along the river. Over the course of our Adventure Rangers Camps, kids will jump on board and enjoy the thrill of riding our Urb-E scooters as they make their way to the Southbank pools for a swim, to the Story Bridge for a picnic lunch or participate in our Riverside Scavenger Hunt.
Center Based Activites
